Shoutout to Mustafa Sulaiman and Ryan Foran for putting together a fantastic event in the best gym in the country for some of the top talent in the state. The players gave us a little sneak peak on what to expect out of them in the season. These are the top wings I saw from Sunday!
Xavier Sulaiman (Oak Lawn 2023)
Another one of those top uncommitted guys at the showcase. He's highly underrated, has received a lot of intrests and offers from D2 and NAIA schools. He showed his unbelievable athleticism, with multiple high flying dunks including a windmill. Thrives in the open court, one of the top transfers as well in the state.
Joshua Thomas (Evanston 2023)
Thomas impressed a lot on Sunday. He's also uncommitted and showed off some bounce, with a highlight reel poster. He also showcased his 3 level scoring, and has all the physical tools for a good prospect in 2023.
Kyle Olagbegi (Lincoln Way East 2023)
The East wing saw his stock rise tremendously over the summer with the Illinois T Wolves. He's a physical forward who plays above the rim and showed his improved perimeter skill. Works hard on both ends and is a rebounding machine.
Daniel Johnson (Whitney Young 2023)
Johnson has been in contact with some mid majors recently. The 6'7 wing showed his transition presence on Sunday. Consistent play on both ends of the floor and ran the floor for easy baskets.
Austin Kuling (Andrew 2023)
Kuling stands at 6'8 and is a sniper from the 3 point range and flys high in transition. He's another one of those D2/D1 guys who are underrated. Will try to carry Andrew to a successful year.
George Bellevue (Lincoln Way East 2023)
Much like his East teammate Kyle, George breaks down defenders, gets to the basket, and finishes with power. 6'6, strong, athletic, toughness, all the character traits you want at the next level.
