#5 St Rita defeated #6 Brother Rice 57-51 on Friday night in a CCL battle at Brother Rice High School. Here are the top players from the night.
Nojus Indrusaitis (St Rita)
Transfer from Lemont still trying to find his footing with new mustang team, and this was a good start. The 2024 wing finished with 19 points, looking real good from 3. Smooth all around scorer, who also had some transition dunks.
Morez Johnson Jr (St Rita)
Johnson had 16 points and 10 rebounds in the win. He dominated the paint all game along with a nice improved mid range jumper. Had a big time dunk in the first half and started the second half with 3 straight baskets. Illini commit continues to be a beast.
James Brown (St Rita)
Brown didn't play a lot in the first half but made a big impact in the second half. He had a big time and one lob dunk, which gave the mustangs a ton of momentum to close out the game. Good shot blocker and rebounder, finished with 10 points.
Ahmad Henderson (Brother Rice)
Henderson was as consistent as can be. The senior guard had 26 points. He pushes the ball in transition and finishes at the basket or kicks out to his shooters. Makes tough shots from 3 and 2, just makes plays. Does it on both ends as well, had a big steal leading to a basket in the 4th quarter. Niagara commit.
Zavier Fitch (Brother Rice)
Fitch had a lot on his hands with Johnson and Brown, and handled it pretty well. The 2024 big man had a couple blocks and rebounds to go along with 9 points. At 6'7 he's very aggressive, active, and energetic on the floor and will attract lower division 1 schools later in the year.
Jimmy Navarrete (Brother Rice)
The Loras commit had a good game coming off the bench for the crusaders. He had 8 points, finished well around the basket. Good defender, can guard 1-4, and was just solid all game long. Underrated pickup for Loras.
