Hillcrest big gains offers after impressive showings at live events:
Darrion Baker a 2023 forward for the Hillcrest Hawks, played really well at the two major live events, Ridgewood and RB. Baker gained offers from these following schools: Toledo, Illinois State, Siena, Radford, Akron, Southern Indiana, Northern Illinois, UIC, Missouri State, SIUE, Cal Poly, Towson, Cal State Fullerton, Indiana State, Wofford, and Valpo. Baker is playing with Team Rose this summer, where he will most likely gain more offers from top schools.
Cayden Vasko starts off July right with great performance at the Summer Challenge:
Vasko is a combo guard in the 2023 class that attends Bosco Institute in Indiana. This past weekend at the Prep Hoops Summer Challenge he played with Fundamental U. Vasko at 6’5, scored from all 3 levels, rebounded, and moved well without the ball all weekend. He currently holds offers from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Army, and Central Michigan. His stock has certainly rised after the weekend.
Oak Lawn’s new athletic guard gets long awaited first offer:
Xavier Sulaiman made the switch from Marist to Oak Lawn this summer, and didn’t disappoint. They played at the RB shootout where he dominated in all aspects of the game. He is a high flyer in transition, and has a quick trigger from 3. Also just had a nice showing at the Summer Challenge this past weekend, where he gained his first offer from Vanguard. Many more to come for the senior guard.
G Leauge commit is back in Illinois playing with Full Package this past weekend:
Matas Buzelis has been one of the most talked about players in the country recently. He announced he was transferring from Brewster Academy to Sunrise Christian Academy, and shortly after committed to the G League Ignite. His other 4 options were: North Carolina, Wake Forest, Kentucky, and Florida State. After all of this he decided to suit up for Full Package in the Summer Challenge. Buzelis showed out, truly couldn’t be guarded and swatted every shot attempted near him. Full Package went 3-1 on the weekend, playing top competition in the tournament.
Rubin Twins decide to stay home in recent commit to the Ramblers:
Wesley Rubin and Miles Rubin are both forwards that attend Simeon. They have been spectacular these past 2 years. Both able to dominate inside the paint on both ends of the floor, while still being very talented on the perimeter. They are playing with Meanstreets on the Eybl circuit this summer. They were seen visiting DePaul mid June, but a few days after their visit, they decided to commit to Loyola. Loyola has had their fair share of great bigs in their program, and they just added 2 more!
Matthew Moore transfers to Joliet West to form new dynamic duo in Illinois:
Moore is a senior forward that played the summer with Hillcrest but ultimately decided to transfer to Joliet West. Moore is a big who has power in the paint finishing through contact and above the rim, blocks shots, and has shown flashes to hit the 3. Had a terrific showing with Chicago Lockdown over the weekend at the Summer Challenge. Waiting for him at West is a trio of talented guards, including 2025 guard Jeremiah Fears who already holds 5 division 1 offers. They have already been labeled as one of the top duos in the state!
