Prep Hoops Summer Challenge: Saturday 2023 Standouts

*These are from the games I saw*

Matas Buzelis (Full Package)

Buzelis has a mismatch whenever he is on the floor. If you put a big on him, he will blow right by him, if you put a guard on him he will dominate in post. Can also knock down the 3, and is an elite rim protector. Recently committed to the G league.

Jake Fiegen (Full Package)

Fiegen is known for his shooting, which he does very well, but I was more impressed with the scoring in the paint, and physical toughness. Took smaller defenders in the post and competed defensively.

Ryan Duncan (Fundamental U)

Duncan really impressed against Full Package. Hit the 3 ball at a high level, including a step back at the end of the half. Counters tough close outs with a nice pull up midrange.

George Bellevue (Fundamental U)

Bellevue is a prospect to look out for this summer. Extremely athletic finishes above the rim, and does the dirty work. He rebounds, nice passer out of post, and can guard all 5 positions.

Matt Moore (Chicago Lockdown)

Moore recently transferred to Joliet West. He is 6’7, long, and athletic. Showed he can knock down the 3, while dominating in the paint on both ends. Blocking shots and finishing with power.

Jackson Niego (Chicago Lockdown)

Niego is a vocal leader for Lockdown. Always talking, controls the offense, and constant effort on defense. He shoots the 3 at a high level, hit a couple to keep them in the game.

Xavier Sulaiman (Hoops 4 Health) Sulaiman is a human highlight reel. Every time he steps out on the floor, he finishes above the rim. He has unreel athleticism and good instincts on defense.

Bryce Shoto (Flight)

Even though Shoto is on the smaller side, he doesn’t have any trouble getting to the paint and finishing. He has a slick handle and is tough finishing at the basket.
