Je'Shawn Stevenson is a big name in the chicagoland area right now. The 2024 prospect has received offers and interests from multiple divison 1 schools. Stevenson runs with Meanstreets EYBL for aau, and got off to a terrific start in the spring.

But right now is June, where schools get their chance to compete, especially in the live period shootouts. Je'Shawn attends Lindbloom Math and Science Academy, which is one of the best academic schools in the area.

Playing on the EYBL circuit is difficult for any player, but especially for Je'Shawn since this is his first year on the circuit.

"The biggest difference is the speed and the size. Every team has a 7 footer, so adjusting your play around the rim is very key. Also the media impact is very big, there's so many cameras and lights."

Je'Shawn has received so much attention on the EYBL circuit do to all those cameras and media trying to find the next star in the basketball world. Thanks to that he has received offers and a lot of attention from divison 1 schools.

"I have been offered by NIU, St. Louis, and Cleveland St. The schools that have shown interest are Yale, UC Davis, Miami (OH), Brown, and Temple."

The Riverside Brookfield live period shootout just concluded over the weekend, where Je'Shawn and his team performed well.

Lindbloom finished with a 2-2 record playing good competition all weekend long. They defeated both Hillcrest and Lockport, two respected highly competitive teams and lost to state champion DePaul Prep and 4A powerhouse Benet.

Je'Shawn put up some big numbers all weekend long, including a 39 point game in the win over Lockport, which was the tournament high in scoring.

While Je'Shawn is a terrific player, there is always room for improvement. He has improved his game so much in the last couple of years. When players are asked about improvement they usually talk about offense, specifically scoring, but Je'Shawn had other thoughts.

"I think my biggest improvement was team defense. Not just worrying about my man, but learning how to help and rotate back better. As well as playing on two feet getting ready for the college level."

"I think it’s obvious my biggest strength is getting downhill. Me being able to beat my man of the dribble. But I think my ability to shoot helps that key aspect of my game as well."

Je'Shawn and Lindbloom will be competing in the 2nd live period shootout in Romeoville. Lindbloom has another 2024 guard that college coaches should be looking at in Quentin McCoy, one of the most underrated guards in the state!

I can't wait to see the rest of the summer and see how Je'Shawn performs and definitely can't wait to see where he will commit!
