Bradley Bourbonnais defeated Sandburg 78-43 on Thursday night. This game was over from the start, Bradley jumped out to a 12-0 lead forcing a Sandburg timeout, and from there it was a rout.
Bradley started out dominating inside with their two bigs. Senior Ben Macki is 6'9, and used that to his advantage. He has great touch around the basket and hauls in rebounds on both ends, especially on offense leading to put backs. Sophomore Nick Allen was active in the post, using size and strength to finish inside, also runs the floor well. Mack finished with 10, and Allen added 11.
The junior backcourt duo of Brandon Harris and Anthony Kemp were impressive as well. Harris had 17 points in the win, he's a speedy guard who pushes the ball and gets to the rim for clever finishes. He can shoot as well, had several 3s, including a buzzer beater. Kemp also knocks down the 3 constantly. He's a guard with good size and length, making him a good 2 way player. He finished with 12 points.
Bradley has tremendous depth, which was a big part in their win. Senior Brayden Long (11 points), a transfer from Yorkville Christian brings size, strength, and 3 point shooting. Junior Ethan Kohl, also chipped in with 9 points, knocking down 3 threes.
For Sandburg, I saw a lot of potential from junior Paulius Mizeras. Has size at the point guard position, controls the offense, and is so smooth. Excels getting to the basket, along with a nice pull up at the free throw line. Sleeper in the 2024 class.
Other scorers for Sandburg were, Walter Davis (10), Om Shukla (10), and David Vargas 6.
